Explanation Of The Bible Scriptures To Christians

By Elsa Noel

There was a time in the New Testament when Jesus rebuked some religious leaders by asking them why they have not read the scriptures. This excerpt is from the book of Mathew 12:3, 5; 19:4; 21:42; 22:31. Probably the people who had been rebuked had continuously read the respective passages several times but were not fortunate enough to give a proper explanation of the bible scriptures.

The books of the holy scripture are written by prominent people. The holy book on the other hand is arranged in a manner in which the scriptures of the first books are on creation while the last ones dwell on our eventual end. How these words of wisdom have survived over the ages is nothing short of a miracle.

The Bible is divided into the Old and New testaments. The writings contained in the Old Testament are full of historical events, stories, genealogies as well as prophecies. On the other hand the New Testament contains teachings, letters and historical counts of Christ.

The scriptures sometimes do avail for us their own interpretations for us to directly benefit without undergoing through much trouble. The earlier Bible was drafted in languages that are presently considered dead and thus it is only by the grace of God that they were translated and can now be accessed by all cultures. Unless properly interpreted the message in the scripture will remain nothing but plain words.

It is a common practice nowadays in the religious world for people to quote verses from the Bible without really having knowledge of what is quoted. The words from the scripture are branded as sound bites rather than distinctive statements of holy meaning from the Almighty. In our present day society people are giving more focus to the way the words sound rather than the sense conveyed.

Bible verses and scriptures empower the believer by giving them direction to how they will confront challenging situations in life. The Bibles teachings can be related to the daily hurdles that engulf as such as the desire for spiritual growth, financial prosperity as well as inner satisfaction. They can be used as a yardstick for one to review the way they relate with others.

It will be really unconvincing for someone who does not believe in this holy book to claim that they have an understanding of the scriptures. When the scriptures are viewed as annals of history the spiritual dimension will be non-existent. The believers who take it as the word of God himself providing nourishment may get more of truth that lies within.

In some old testament excerpt in Isaiah 28:9-13 as well as Proverbs 8:9, there is the general belief that scripture is easy to them that understand, but difficult to other people. In the New Testament Peter even goes ahead to confess that Paul epistles were hard to understand. Jesus also told the Jews to search the scriptures as he was present in them, John 5:39
