Standford University 101

By Philip James

One of the most esteemed universities, not to mention the world, is Standford. Perhaps, i could present you the more detailed, chronological Wikipedia version to this article, yet somehow I figured it would most likely be better to show you the perspective of a student instead of coming from the lens of a historian.

The environment of the university is considerably impressive and therefore, top notch among those located on the west area. The architecture shows a more exclusive and contemporary vibe to it compared to other universities of the same caliber, but I love the mission style structural design. All of the properties within the campus are certainly renowned, and Palm Drive is absolutely a sight to itself.

After the University of Moscow, Stanford is the 2nd biggest campus in the world. There are a bunch of leisure activities that can be done there. There you find a post office, a gas station, gold course, a multitude of restaurants and eateries, and a huge university shop. Even those in need of their wheatgrass fix can head straight to the nearest Jamba Juice shop.

Get a bike to get around campus. I love how flat the campus is so you can ride a bike. If that is not an option, walking is beautiful but it's going to take you a bit longer. Watch out for bikes! I enjoyed walking around campus with a book in my hand. It was very relaxing, and I never got hit by a bike.

With regards to it academic standards, Standford is a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10.I have met a bunch of wonderful instructors and I absolutely treasure the educational experience I've had there. Inside the campus buildings you will find a bustling arena of innovations and experiments that are all geared toward making a world a better place, as more notably, helping other people lives. Classes are kept within a small scale of 1:6 teacher-student ratio. Small class sizes. It's about 1:6 ratio. There are also a lot of programs that makes it possible for students to study abroad at one of the many Standford international campuses. However, if you choose to stay there, you will most likely meet several prominent educators within the classroom.

Stanford attracts an excess of 34,000 candidates every year and admits about 1500 into the university. Most of them (92%) belong to the upper 10 percent of their High School senior classes. Another method is if your parents give a big contribution to the university, particularly a building or a structure for the campus. Quite a lot of those attending are declared to be science and engineering majors. Having said that, there are some 3,500 who have not decided yet. You don't need to choose your specialty right away. The overall look of the campus is traditional but very modern and maintained meticulously. Ninety eight percent of the students live within the university. Standford also provides a no-cost transportation service for all.

Stanford students tend to be focused, creative and positive. It draws in the best of the best. The actual cost of tuition is $56,000 per year and it consists of college tuition, living quarters. Absolutely no extra expense for overseas study or even various other special programs. For those who need help in paying tuition fees, students can apply to the numerous tuition assistance work programs available. Pretty much everyone gets financial support, scholarships and loans.

I spent four formative years in Stanford and while I have a deep affection for this campus. Stanford is a school that prepares you for a life that gets better and richer with every year. Being a fan of Social Distortion and an alumni of Stanford, you can say I've lived a "charmed life".
