Facts Being Debated About Grammar School Examinations

By Lucia Weeks

A person has basic needs and becoming educated is one of them. For this, there are various systems being introduced for the optimum effectiveness of teaching the kids. There are those that fare well but then there are also others which have sparked several contradictions. One example would be the grammar schools that are only existing today in some parts of London.

There have been numerous controversies surrounding the existence of the system because it divides the society according to talent and brains. The only children who are ever going to get free admission are those who would score high during the grammar school examinations. However, there are also good things and objectives on why it was created in the first place.

In connection to this, here are some of the points on why it should be reintroduced and why it is not a good idea. There have been a lot of debates about this issue. And it is only right that people know what they are debating on before taking a side.

In the society, there are status in which a person lives his life. And if education is not free like what other types of institutions are doing, there will be no chance for those who have no finances to send their kids to school. At least with the grammar institution option, those talented kids that could not afford will get the best education they could possibly have.

Consequently, they would get the best trainings for the career that they could take on in the future. And when you come from institutions with this kind of reputation, you are expected to do well. And it would not be impossible for a child to have a future as an elite.

Each child who goes in to this institution would need to have a talent. The system is designed to help and cater to the needs of the kids. They cultivate the learning and increase the level of skills and abilities of the students.

Most of the opposition would criticize the system when the only aim that it has is to develop and give the children a better future. One advantage of reviving it is a curriculum that focuses on the needs of the kids. This is not something that can be said for other schools.

But, it also has the ability to create huge divisions in the children of the society at a very young age. It does not promote equality which is now what moral teachings and principles of the society is about. And because of the culture that the school is bringing it is easy to create stereotypes that should not be existing and could ruin the self esteem of a child.

Lucky are those who are poor yet good in academics. But you cannot say the same for those who are not. And if they are also not lucky to be well off, all the more that they will suffer. This is one of the things that the opposition want to avoid.
