When food is cooked directly over high heat, it's easy to see that broiling will take place. Meat like steak, as well as other delicacies like scallops, are usually treated to this method and are better because of it. Of course, there are a number of culinary specialists who may be familiar with broiling but uncertain of how to go about it effectively. While grilling involves heat coming from below, broiling works with heat that comes from above. What this means is that tastes will be different and, depending on what you prefer, you may see broiling as the more ideal method for the purpose of preparing a litany of foods.
