If you really want to be sure to miss the buildup of cars, then be on your way before 6:00am. Once that time passes, you will definitely get caught in the traffic. Use the time to do something simple like enjoy some coffee or tea as the city wakes up.

In order to beat the buildup after work, drivers should generally leave before 3:30pm or after 7pm. However, if time is of the essence, the best way to get around the city is using the subway.
